The Iron Fist of Justice

You must show no pity for the guilty! Your rule should be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
Deut 19:21

The God of justice:  firm, strict, unmoving, unbending. If you break the law you must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. There is no wiggle room there is no escape. Justice is an iron unforgiving fist and so must it be. Justice and fairness for all means people cannot and should not get away from the consequences of evil. But yet somehow this is not a cause for celebration. All humans deep down know they are guilty. Is there a way to escape justice and still be “right”? Only if somebody takes justices punishment for you. God himself steps forward in the person of Jesus Christ and says I’ll take their guilt have no pity on me! Justice is served, the guilty are free, and a life-changing relationship between the human and the Divine is born.

About Dennis Arve Wilkinson

Happily married, blessed with four children, thrilled to have started Meta Communities in 2011. Born in Calgary, raised in Winnipeg, undergraduate education in Wisconsin (NIU) & Seminary education in Minnesota (CBTS). During my time in the Midwest I gained about a dozen years of pastoral experience. It has been my privilege to travel to many parts of the globe and divine providence has smiled on me by allowing me to be mentored by several men of great character over the course of my life time. I am a follower of Jesus - though not without struggle. I am committed to joining God in the restoration of all things by telling, showing, and welcoming people into the good news of God's story. God's story of redemption in Jesus is the best story the human has -- I am letting the better story shape my life and helping others do the same.
